Blanca Lanaspa

Blanca Lanaspa (Zaragoza, 1983) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the relationships between science, cultural heritage, territory and human experience from a sociological perspective, often drawing on familiar, everyday subjects.

Her practice combines conceptual and technical research with direct engagement with materials, paying attention to their physical qualities, the emotions they evoke and the transformations that emerge throughout the creative process. Matter, time, fire, chemistry, place and chance all play a role, sometimes leading to outcomes that were not determined in advance. Both process and material are integral to the work itself.

Her work thus emerges from the coexistence of two impulses: one that seeks to order and structure, and another that embraces exploration, experimentation and the unexpected.

She has participated in projects and exhibitions in Spain and Denmark, including Witness 176,8 (Art Madrid, 2026), Earth, Clay, Tile, City (Service Road) (Art Madrid, 2025), Earth Calls (collaboration with Javier Ideami, 2021), Scratching the Surface (Copenhagen, 2016) and The Timeline Project (Cinemateket, Danish Film Institute, 2012).
